High Cotton’s latest CD, Pictures, contains a mix of Rock, Doo-Wop, Pop, Country and Folk in a way that makes perfect sense. Laura Monk & HIgh Cotton create and perform original songs with uncommon words and mesmerizing melodies. The band consists of seasoned performers whose musical experience ranges from Pop, Jazz, Celtic, Rock and Country, and their music is influenced by Roget and Webster, John Hiatt, Dolly Parton, Ogden Nash, Carol King, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Shane McGowan, Tom Rush, John Sebastian, Paul Simon, Willie Dixon, Traditional Ballads, and Lucinda Williams.
